Note:

Flotation suits are usually not immune to fainting, i.e. if you fall unconscious into the water, the suit does not automatically turn you on your back so that your head is held above water. For your safety, also use a life jacket with 275N buoyancy.

EN 393 / EN ISO 12402-5: 50N BUOYANCY AIDS

Auftriebspiktogramm

Have a buoyancy of no less than 50 Newton for the average adult. This level is intended for use by those who are competent swimmers and who are near to bank or shore, or who have help and a means of rescue close at hand. These garments have minimal bulk, but they are of limited use in disturbed water, and cannot be expected to keep the user safe for a long period of time. They do not have sufficient buoyancy to protect people who are unable to help themselves. They require active participation by the user.

ISO EN 343:2003+A1:2007: Regenbekleidung

EN_343

This standard serves to standardize workwear that protects against precipitation, fog, moisture and other weather conditions. Protective clothing used at temperatures as low as -5°C complies with the EN 343 standard, awarded by various European standards, and the logo reflects the upper number X (waterproof) and the lower number Y (breathable). Here, for example, water resistance would be Class 3 and breathability would be Class 1.
