Westin SØMMET – Inline Sea Trout Lure for Long-Distance Coastal Fishing
The Westin SØMMET is a proven Scandinavian inline lure designed specifically for sea trout fishing. The name “Sømmet” means “the nail”, a reference to its long and slender shape. In the water, however, the lure comes alive and imitates a sandeel – one of the most important prey species for large sea trout hunting in shallow coastal areas.
Its slim profile provides excellent casting performance and allows the lure to reach impressive distances, making it ideal for covering large areas of water or reaching fish holding further offshore. The inline design offers an additional advantage during the fight. Because the lure can slide freely on the line, the fish has less leverage against the hook. This can help reduce lost fish, especially when fighting powerful sea trout.
The SØMMET is made from zinc and finished with realistic hand-painted colour patterns. Designed and developed in Scandinavia, it is built specifically for modern coastal sea trout fishing. The lure is supplied with Perma Steel Japan-style hooks in the appropriate sizes, three beads and an oval split ring for flexible and secure rigging.
Rigging Tip
After threading the line through the lure, add asmall round or oval bead before tying on the single or treble hook. The bead helps protect the knot from direct contact with the lure. For increased hook freedom, use the supplied oval split ring. Attach the split ring to the hook first, then tie the line to the end where the split-ring wire is doubled.
