Sølvkroken DRAUG Slow Pitch Jig – Lead-Free Zinc Jig with BKK Hook
The Sølvkroken DRAUG is a modern slow pitch jig designed for targeted sea fishing. Unlike traditional pilkers, it is worked with short, controlled lifts rather than hard and aggressive rod movements.
After each lift, the DRAUG comes to life on the drop. It glides widely from side to side while producing an attractive vibration, creating the impression of an injured or weakened baitfish.
This action is particularly effective for species such as cod, halibut, pollock and coalfish. Many strikes occur while the jig is falling, so watching the line closely is an important part of the technique.
The DRAUG is made from zinc and is therefore 100 % lead-free, making it an interesting alternative to conventional lead jigs.
It is fitted with a sharp BKK Hook with excellent resistance to saltwater corrosion. The hook can also be replaced, allowing the DRAUG to be fished with a BKK Assist Hook or another suitable setup.
The jig works especially well with rods from the Sølvkroken GUNGNE range, but can also be used with other suitable slow pitch and sea fishing rods.
How to Fish the DRAUG
- Drop the jig to the bottom or to the required depth.
- Lift the rod tip in a controlled movement, around a quarter to half a rod length.
- Allow the jig to fall freely.
- Watch the line carefully, as many strikes occur on the drop.
- Repeat the lift-and-fall rhythm.
- Vary the speed depending on fish activity.
