As the name suggests, the PENN Overseas XT II Halibut 210cm is purpose-made for halibut fishing from a boat in big-fish destinations such as Norway. These rods are tuned for what matters most when targeting halibut: bite detection, control and serious lifting power.
Compared to standard boat rods, the XT II Halibut features a slightly softer tip to improve bite detection and help you read subtle takes. Once hooked up, the rod’s brutal backbone takes over, giving you the power to lift and control a monster halibut from the depths.
Built from high modulus carbon and reinforced with X-wrap carbon technology, the blank delivers excellent strength and stability. The Fuji Alconite guides with stainless steel frames are designed to last season after season in saltwater, while maintaining smooth line flow. The high-density EVA handle is ergonomically shaped for long hours on the boat, providing a secure grip even with wet hands or in freezing temperatures.
For transport and travel, each rod comes including a Cordura travel tube, keeping your gear protected on the way to your next trip.
