During this period Ryobi reels earned a reputation alongside other notable Japanese brands, prized for their precision and durability.
Around the year 2000, Ryobi sold its fishing tackle business to Johshuya Co., Ltd. and ceased producing reels directly. Since then, RYOBI-branded reels have been manufactured under license, but the historical legacy remains.
