Fladen automatic life jacket FRS 150N

This life jacket is certified for 150N buoyancy in accordance with EN1095 / ISO12401. It opens automatically when the wearer falls into the water, but can also be activated manually. It has a safety harness with a strong, non-magnetic stainless steel D-ring to which a rescue line can be attached. 

Please note that only life jackets with 275N also provide protection against unconsciousness, as these keep the head of the unconscious person safely above water, while jackets with 150N do not automatically turn the unconscious person onto their back so that their head is out of the water. 

General information about life jackets:

An inflatable life jacket is a personal flotation device (PFD) that generates buoyancy through a release mechanism with gas pressure cartridges.

A life jacket is constructed as follows:

Protective cover:

The protective cover provides optimum protection for the inflatable air chamber and extends the life of the life jacket.

Inflatable flotation device:

Single-chamber life jacket -  Buoyancy is achieved by a single flotation device (minimum requirement according to EN/ISO).

Double-chamber life jacket - Buoyancy is achieved by two flotation devices (minimum requirement according to IMO/SOLAS). The double-chamber system is designed so that 
if one chamber is damaged or fails, the other ensures buoyancy as long as the user is in the water.

Release mechanism:

The release mechanism is required to activate and pierce the cartridge so that gas can flow into the air chamber and inflate it.

Automatic release:

The vest inflates automatically upon contact with water. The air chamber is inflated immediately. If this does not happen, which is very
unlikely, the life jacket can be activated manually using the pull cord.

Manual activation:

Manual activation can be performed by the user by pulling the pull cord.

CO2 cartridge

When the release mechanism is activated, it pierces the cartridge and releases the CO2 into the air chamber so that the float can be inflated to the desired buoyancy class.
